The gold mining and exploration situation is so corrupt, most gold is sneaked out of the country and sold on the black market to escape the legal pay-offs which take most of your find.     Does anyone really think this gold hasnt been looked for, and missed? Its long gone.   Marcos got the mother load.  So yes, there could be some small cache's left. But then again, that will raise much unwanted attention, and people are watching. So where did all the gold go? Who got rich? Who got shot? What politicians are laughing?   Most people finding gold like this, would never tell about it. Would you? Hell no.
